The only thing worse than finding herself in the harem of the hideous fish-man that had bought her, Loren found out, was discovering what he really had in mind. His gladiators, to his mind, needed incentive to fight more savagely and dangling her under their noses, he was certain, was just the thing to inspire them.

What luck to arrive just as the Hirachi—his best and fiercest warriors—went into spawning! And what a terrifying thrill for her to find herself the object of the affections of three seven foot, yellow skinned aliens built like tanks—Kael, Dakaar, and Balen—all at the same time!

Rating Carnal/erotic. Multiple sexual partners. Adult situations and language.

Genre Futuristic Romance

Author Kaitlyn O’Connor was first published by Harlequin Enterprises in 1994 under the pen name of Madris Dupree after nearly a decade of ‘apprenticeship’ --struggling to learn the business, the marketing, and the writing skills necessary for a career in commercial fiction. That ‘first’ published book, a historical, (which was actually her fourth attempt at a marketable piece of fiction) was successful, however, selling nearly 80,000 copies in the U.S., Switzerland, France, and the U.K. She writes various genres (or sub-genres since she always writes romance!) under different pen names. She has written science fiction/futuristic/fantasy under several—Kaitlyn O’Connor, in honor of her Scottish grandmother, Lyssa Hart, and Angelique Anjou (for the French ancestry), all combined here now under the single pen name Kaitlyn O’Connor.

“Kaitlyn O’Connor has done it again in creating a story, rich in adventure with sexual overtones and robust characters. She has taken the classic escape and survival story and enlivened it with enough spice and flavor to make a delicious meal for your mind and, of course, a damn good read.”

I enjoyed this book very much, I read it all in one go didn’t put it down once. It was a good story with lots of emotional ups and downs, you never knew what was going to happen with the heroine and the other 2 ladies locked up with the gladiators. Were they safe or were they going to be thrown to the gladiators at any moment. They had no privacy and practically no clothing in the cells and men we’re constantly parading in front of the cells and they weren’t just normal men they were big ferocious aliens that were really scary looking, even the ones that seemed friendly. Later in the book you met up with the Hirachi from the other books and saw how their village and people had progressed how good they were at adapting in new environments, which was a nice touch.

Warning: spoilers in this review

This book could have gone to a 5 star review for me if the author had:

- not had the rape scene. It is just too disturbing to think about and then the way the main character was able to recover from it so quickly felt callous to real world rape victims, ignoring how traumatic and devastating such an experience like that is. The author doesn't go into detail about the rape, but for an escapist romance story, no one wants to know that the heroine had to endure that during the story

- the main character is introduced as a top-in-her-class engineer employed to examine alien technology. She came across though as a lousy engineer when she's on the trader's ship for weeks and does nothing to understand the ship better. She had a talking computer for gosh sakes - she could have tried to uncover tons of information about the ship, other worlds, whatever! It isn't until they land that she starts employing her intellect. I really hate it when the heroine is depicted as such a dummy

- the 4th guy added to her dance card. Hmm, that could have worked if the heroine knew more about his personality and not just for the sexual attraction. Otherwise, she just comes across as a whore. Daeman came across too crude for me with his derogatory name calling. I could see there being a 2nd book developing this relationship with him and the author is certainly talented enough to even add the other two demon looking guys to the "harem" and making it look right. I've noticed that the author consistently rushes the ending, like she runs out of inspiration and this affected this 4th relationship.

Okay, now that I have all the negative out of the way. Why the 4 stars - because there was something incredibly sweet about the Hirachi gladiators treatment of her. I know some of the reviewers found the "you Tarzan, me Jane" dialogue frustrating, but for me it just made them seem that more sweeter. The world building was great as usual with this author. If, and I hope there is, there is a part 2 to this story, I would definitely buy the book.

Enslaved III The Gladiators eBook Kaitlyn O'Connor Reviews

I enjoyed this book. There are 3 in the series, this being the last. The author brings you into their world and gets your emotions involved. The men are hot, even if different and I wouldn't mind having one for my own. LOL I hope that she continues this series as new species are introduced in this book. I found it a good get away.
Loved this series, makes you gasp, squeal, laugh, cry and smile. When a story can pull those reactions from you, you know that it's worth buying and reading. I bought this book, all three books that are in the series (I hope there's more soon), and didn't put it or them down or wander around in boredom until I finished all of them in a row. Part two in ebook is not available on for some reason but it is available online elsewhere, so I didn't have to wait to read the entire series. Highly recommended!!!!! 5 Stars!
I'm really surprised that I liked this book. The plot didn't sound like something I generally like to read (I prefer 1 on 1), but I decided to give it a try because I like quite a few books by this author... and I'm happy I did because it was a fairly entertaining read! I'm glad everyone had a purpose in the story, as I was half expecting it to be like the random love interest in "The Portal", but I found I actually liked the way they paired themselves off. The language she uses for the aliens can be found in many of her books, so if the caveman dialect annoys you, avoid this author. I however, think it adds to the differences between the human and alien characters, why would they speak perfect English when they don't speak English? Overall, I liked the characters, they were funny, whether they meant to be or not, and I really wanted them all to be happy. It's a romance novel, so there's really no surprise endings here.

Buuuutttt I must note that although I liked this book, it needs some serious editing! There were so many I had a hard to ignoring them (like I do with most romance novels), they were EVERYWHERE! The story also include rape (they seem to deal with it pretty well), so if that is a sensitive subject for you, I would suggests finding something else.
SPOILER ALERT!

I've owned this book for a while but I'm just now writing a review. I figured it was past due since I'm re-reading it for the third or fourth time ) Kaitlyn O'Connor is one of my favorite authors! I adore her books and fervently hope that she continues to write about the Hirachi and her cyborg series. I would love to read the stories of the 'pod people' and the other unmated Hirachi and Diesen. Do they stay on this world or do they find a way to refuel the ship?? Either way I'm sure it would be an epic story!

Note to the author
Please feed my addiction! Your books are better than chocolate and I'm in dire need of more Hirachi! And Cyborgs! I know you are probably working on other series but another book...or 20 in this series would be greatly appreciated! Also, if you ever started a series about the people in The Ninth Orb I would buy every book ) Just a thought.
