Jessica Keller is quickly becoming one of my favorite space heroines - right up there with Honor Harrington and Kris Longknife. This book has a little bit of everything - backroom dirty politics, space action and fighting against near impossible odds. I've enjoyed these stories they've developed and they're an easy enjoyable read. One somewhat valid criticism of David Weber is that the details at times overwhelm the story, which doesn't happen here. There's just enough detail for you to know how the universe is ordered and more in moving the plot along.In this story, Jessica is back for another tiff with the Red Admiral and he's coming loaded for bear. As usual, Jessica is horribly out-gunned but also as usual, she has a whole lot of mischief on her side. Yeoman Kermode is on center stage in this book and gets a bit of growing up as well.The fight takes place at Ballard which ties together "The Story Road" with Jessica's chronicles. This time Jessica is fighting to protect Suvi, the last of the immortal AI's (hence the title) that the Red Admiral has come to exterminate. And by the way, he wants Jessica's head too - seems he's a bit upset at being played twice now.
I've enjoyed all three of these books and look forward to where Blaze Ward takes the story next.

Hey we finally get some serious space battling. Well done, difficult stuff to write as we don't battle in space, I'm sure we'll manage to do so eventually. No spoilers, but hey I enjoyed this series. Dig in and have at, is a pretty good feast.
Creative story line. An enjoyable read. Characters are very well thought out and intriguing. The adventure is compelling. I almost feel as if I'm reading an alternate version of the Star Wars saga. It is a fast fun and easy read. Great entertainment. The female lead character is wonderful.
A mongo battle, perhaps a little turgid at times but satisfying. Jessica, the master tactician, belay that... strategist meets the foe's best warrior to save an irreplaceable entity.
I started this book on the 17th and finished this morning. I could not put it down. This is an excellent ending to what the author promises to be one of many series in this universe I look forward to Fleet Lord Keller returning. Great job excellent characters, new twists. I could not ask for a better novel. If you are a sci-fi fan this is for you.
I just love this series and would love for it to continue. Who do I like most? Hard to tell but Moirrey sure tops the list most of the time. This book is tight and well written. The characters are well developed and the battle scenes are terrific It is hard to say great things about the book without giving something away so just understand that this book is well worth your money and your time.
This series is rare, like finding a Rembrandt drawing inbetween kids stuff, if you are into MSF and like the Kris Longknife series, this will be a treasure. 6 stars out of 5, Highly recommended!

Sent on a desparate mission that turns out to be a carefully laid trap,Jessica Keller faces the greatest challenge of her career. The usual crew are there to back her up with one addition,Suvi,a pixie of an A.I. Fast moving,well drawn scenes,multiple POV's,characters with depth,an enemy worthy of the fight-all the elements for a good read packed into this short,punchy,290 page novel. Third in the series,Last of the Immortals has my vote for the most engaging story so far. The future holds promise. Recommended.
